Tools like this are interesting and can be very useful. However, when collecting data in the field it's important to ensure that all important information is collected. Nothing worse than getting back to the lab/office only to discover that a clever digital tool doesn't work, or is less efficient than actually collecting data in the field. Not saying Serpwidgets doesn't work, but it's important to fully test and develop a good working procedure before relying on any new tool.

Of course with a good network connection tools like this can actually be used in the field with devices like an iPad (and possibly iPhone, although the screen may be a little small). I'll certainly be giving it a go.
